Pros: Great feel. Good cushion hand grip. Really good 'pop' off the bat on the sweet spot. Many guys on the team tried it and have switched to using it over their own bats!

Cons: The painted logo seems pretty thick and is easily scratched as the bat hits the ground. The price ($200.00)also seems a bit high, but I guess that's just the going rate for a good bat.

Pros: The best bat I ever used! I normally have warning track power but now I can hit bombs. I hit one about 350'. This bat is great out of the wrapper and is becoming a team bat.

Cons: Just the person using it sometimes.

by Moonlight - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: This bat feels nicely weighted, and right out of the wrapper balls hit off the sweet spot jump.

Cons: So far (2 weeks) balls that are slightly mis-hit, where I don't quite catch the sweet spot, go nowhere and those hits sting a little. Hopefully as the bat gets broken in those slight mis-hits will become a little better.

Pros: Just purchased the salvo.Played twice since received. Can't keep team mates hands off of it. Performance good and gettintg better with every hit. Still cold in MD. Can't wait for 70+ degree weather.I pitty 3rd base and pitchers. They better start wearing armor.I was a double wall fenatic, but it looks like I could be won over to the composite side.

Cons: better wear batting gloves or suffer blisters from the grip tape.

Pros: I almost hate to make a positive review... it will only make these sell out faster. Mine is hot out of the wrapper. The Salvo has a great feel and balance. I love the pop sound when you connect. Nice distance. Low low vibration. Cant go wrong if you buy it imo.

Cons: Sure to sell out fast when the word gets out more that these are hot/

Pros: very comfortable bat .it feels great on contact.the grip is great but was filthy as soon as it came out of box I have not had it rolled yet but it wasn't bad out of wrapper, but much better after only one game. The girls were ripping base hits where it would have been ground outs before.Cant wait for it to open up.Arrived on west coast ahead of schedule with free shipping!!!!

Cons: don't think the paint will last long and you may need to hide from teammates

Cons: had to change the white grip.

Pros: Hottest bat i've EVER used out of the wrapper. First at bat 300ft plus in a cross wind approx 10mph(i honestly mean first at bat, no warm up swings). Fifth and Sixth at bat 2 more 300 ft plus bombs with wet, semi-soggy balls. Undoubtedly a bargain for $240, you won't go wrong.I chose a 26oz, maybe should have went with the 27oz.

Cons: Maybe the color? Who really cares with this kind of performance. Some cats were making fun of the orange and white

Pros: Hot bat out the wrapper. You can just tell by the sound of the bat when making contact. I've taken it out a couple times for BP so far and it hasn't disappointed me at all. Great value for the price!!

Cons: Not much...just not a big fan of the white grip.

Cons: Some may not like the white tape but it doesn't bother me

by Memphis Raines - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: Great pop right out of the wrapper. First ball hit was a mishit and still went for a homerun. The sign of a special bat. I'm excited for this bat to open up. I saw some people dont like the white grip as it might get dirty pretty easy. I retape my bats so that wasnt a negative for me.

Cons: That they are starting to get hard to find with such a great price tag

Pros: this bat feels great on contact grip is nice and balance is amazing .have not had bat rolled yet but it shows some promise out of wrapper.very noticeable difference for the smaller and inexperienced hitters on team.Hope you like to share

Cons: white grip was filthy with in seconds of coming out of box but playing ball is about gettin dirty so it may be a good oman!!!

Pros: Good pop on this bat right out of the wrapper i play co ed and the women and men both love to use this bat. graphics are also nice good looking bat.I would recomend this bat

Cons: none yet

by KingCong22 - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: This bat is a homerun waiting to happen. In the 4 games its been used in, it has seen 7 homeruns. I mishit a ball yesterday and swore as I jogged to first thinking it was an easy flyout, then I realized it carried out of the park. Bottom line is: get this bat while you can.

Cons: Everyone complains about the grip. All you need to do is be smart about it. I use football gloves w. this bat and the grip is great. For my teamates who dont use gloves, I got black athletic tape and spiraled it on the grip (it looks and feels much better - - no slip at all)

Pros: Great price, good pop - not excellent. Bought 26oz. and 28oz. 26 is definitely light.

Cons: End cap cracked and rattle appearing in the 26oz. No problems with 28oz (28 had orange sticker, 26 did not).

Pros: This bat is great! Evenly balanced - Great pop - Instantly hot. I have the 26oz and it is by far the smoothest bat I have swung. Pick your target b.c. this bat is true.

Cons: I have to let my "Not so good" teamates use it.

Pros: Best bat for the money BY FAR! We just got one for our team and we were hitting some BP and the ball just launches off this bat. Hot out of the wrapper and now with 150 swings on the bat it is all ready our new go to bat.Sexy looking bat too.

Cons: None, the white tape makes a real nice soft grip.

by Fox - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: I like the feel of the salvo. It has awsome pop out of the wrapper. It does exactly what the handle says " manufactured to hit bombs". I would recomend if you dont have one.... Get one ASAP.

Cons: Kind of wondering how long its going to last.

by Shep - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: Great bat for the price! I used one several times, before I bought my own. Hits very hard and has a good size sweet spot

Cons: Takes some time to break in. I wouldn't go right to a game right out of the wrapper. Use it for BP and beat the heck out of it with a rubber mallet and she tunes just fine. The grip is horrible if you don't wear gloves. It will get sweaty and slippery, then it'll slip and go flying into the infield.

Pros: The Salvo was hot right out of the wrapper and provided some very good thump. It shipped quickly and arrived ahead of schedule. The grip has a nice feel to it and the bat is weighted perfectly.

Cons: Obviously the price, but if you want a legit bat nowadays it's $200+ or bust. Overall I've got no complaints. I've read about it wearing out with too much use, but nothing bothersome for us yet.

Pros: Quickly becoming a team bat! lol. less than 150 hits Huge sweet spot. Limited break-in. Already gave a third baseman some chin music with it oops srry bout that.

Cons: none

by Foster City - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: Good looking bat, decent price. When you hit the sweet spot it goes. Difficult these days to find a good ASA approved bat. Bat has nice quiet sound on solid contact.

Cons: I would not say it is hot out of the wrapper, definitely needs break in. Will still give it 4 stars in anticipation.

Pros: just bought today fresh out of the plastic, and i crank my first 2 times at bat to just about the fence at the 300ft mark. if thats not impressive i dont know what is. this bat has a great feel, great pop @ connection, and strait crushes the ball. i can only imagine what this bat will do when its broken in. its a HR beast..better yet they should have named it " the HULK" dont make it angry..lol

Cons: Its like a dorito...once you pop...it wont stop..seriously first day ..brand new...and half my team was using it. over mikens and various other choices.

Pros: had my salvo about a week pulled wrapper off first swing in BP 315 foot bomb after that... average hr 325 foot easy this bat has great flex no hand vibration what so ever by far the best 199.99 bat out there..awsome color awsome grip ...did not even have to Roll the sweet spot....hot out of wrapper

Cons: none what so ever

Pros: Just bought the bat and now braking it in with BP. It has really good pop and distance for a fresh bat. I can not wait for it to be broken in when it comes to game time for fall-ball.

Cons: White handle grip but who cares its has a great tachy feel.

by irishkillerian - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: The bat took a couple of rounds of batting practice and a few games to get hot but when it did it felt very good. For the price of the bat you can't go wrong. This is one of the best easton bats i have ever owned and easton really never seemed to thrill me. But this bat seems to be so far so good.

Cons: can't find any yet.

by yimmy - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: this bat for $199 is going to be one of the hottest bats out for 2011, it has a very generous sweet spot slight end load. I'm not a real big guy only about 170 but was hitting 300's + easy fresh out of the wrapper it's going to be one of my best bat's at a much cheaper price than any of my other bat's highly recommend to any type of hitter.

Cons: The white grip was dirty the first few rounds of bp but it's an easy fix.

Pros: bought bat 2 months ago the girls on my coed team like it because it is pretty

Cons: this bats just does not hit good i dont know if it is just because my worth toxic is that much better or what the feel is real stiff sweet spot is small i wish i would have saved my money and bought something else i bought this bat because of all the hype for $200 o yea it has the orange cap that everyone says is the one u want

Pros: Best bat for the price as long as you get one with the orange e on the endcap. this bat ranks up there with my synergy speed bh for 100 less!

Cons: none

by Pinny - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: Bought 3 bats for a lower league tourney and the guy's loved them. They were the only bats allowed they were allowed to play with. After 8 games and 60 hits per game they held up great. The winning team got one, I sold the other (could have sold 5 if I had had them) and I kept the other for myself. Paint on the handle knob could be better, but overall very satisfied.

Cons:

by geoffro - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: Needed a new ASA approved bat after my synergy finally shot craps. The salvo is awesome. Fairly decent pop out of the wrapper (averaging anywhere between 275'-290'); but after a few dozen off the tee, the bat's performing unbelievably well. First 3 hits were over a 300' fence. Definitely a great bat. That's not even considering all the compliments i'm getting on how great the bat looks.

Cons: First dozen off the tee made me realize batting gloves are a necessity for the grip it comes with. The grip also needs a good wipe down after each use just to keep it clean.

Pros: AMAZING BAT!!! Crushing them to the fence and over!!!!!! One of Easton's best!

Cons: White grip, but does it really matter?

Pros: I got the 30 oz and it feels lighter than my other 30oz. It is perfect. Got it last week and used it yesterday for the first time. All my teammates liked it too.

Cons: Haven't found any cons yet.

by ironman004 - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: beautiful crack when making contact, line drives are ridiculously hard off the bat.The ball jumps off the bat.

Cons: it's not hot right out of the wrapper. needed about 150 to 200 swings to break it in and see the results i was looking for. felt a little vibration when hitting off the tee.

by Salvo Freak! - Apr 16, 2010

Pros: OH wow.. this bat is wayy hot. I'm not a big power hitter so no bombs for me yet but had a teammate use it last night. he hit an absolute missle over the fence (300 ft). If you dont have one, get one. If you dont you are missing out.

Cons: none

could u use this in a fastpitch softball tournament

As long as the bat is approved by the governing body that sponsers the tournament it will be good to go.

18

How long does it take to break this bat in?

The Easton Salvo: SRV5 is fairly hot right out of the wrapper. To ensure that you get the maxiumum lifespan out of the bat, it is recommended that you take about 20-30 half swings while rotating the bat in your hands to maximize the performance of the carbon fibers in the barrel.

29

Is it true the Salvo bats with the orange end caps are hotter?
