New for 2012! For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Stacked Composite walls. This bat is loaded with technology, end to end. The Clutch 2 Endcap is a dual density cap designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening impact vibration to give players an amazing feel, hit after hit! The CF5 also features Half and Half Technology that redistributes weight to give the bat optimal balance. This gives players the ability to swing faster with less effort; ultimately resulting in more power! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! The CF5 is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionA lot of people have been saying it cracks easily in the reviews, and they say there kids are in 10U and below. My daughter plays 14U and the ball is coming fast. I'm worried that it will crack within the first week. Does the warranty cover this? And how long will it take to get the replacement bat if it does crack?
Asked by Olney Cougars on Apr 29, 2012
The 2012 DeMarini CF5 comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty. Every manufacture is different on their turn around time for warranty replacements.

Debating between this bat and the Easton FP11SY10. Looking for range with my hits..which do you recommend between the two?
Asked by Vexss2010 on Apr 22, 2012
Both the DXCFS and FP11SY10 are great bats. The FP11SY10 has a -10 length to weight ratio and is a one-piece bat. The DXCFS has a -11 length to weight ratio and is a two-piece bat. If you are a stronger hitter I would recommend the FP11SY10 as it has a lesser length to weight ratio and is a one-piece bat. If you are a player who hits for contact without as much power, I would recommend the DXCFS due to it's greater length to weight ratio and two-piece design which will offer more flex.

Is this bat going to be legal next year for MHSAA?
Asked by Jordan on Apr 15, 2012
Yes. As far as we know here, the DXCFS will still be legal next year. We can't predict any future restrictions or bans, but the DXCFS should be good to go
· Apr 15, 2012
Will this bat be grandfathered in for 2013 or do I wait for the 2013 models to come out before spending the money for one?
Asked by Scott on Apr 03, 2012
If you are playing in an ASA league, then this bat will still be legal since it has the ASA 2004 approved stamp. ASA is not requiring any new stamps next year. However, if you are playing in a USSSA league, then no the old USSSA stamp is not being grandfathered in. You are required to have the new stamp to play in 2013.

what is the difference between DXCFS AND THE DXCFP?
Asked by VIRG on Mar 26, 2012
The length to weight ratio is the difference. The DXCFS is a -11. The DXCFP is a -10. For instance, a 32 inch DXCFS weighs 21 ounces. A 32 inch DXCFP weighs 22 ounces. This is just to give different players different options when it comes to size.
· Mar 26, 2012
Do these bats have the new USSSA stamp?
Asked by barry on Mar 20, 2012
The CF5 doesn't have the new USSSA stamp. However, it will be legal in 2012, but not in 2013.

My daughter was using a -12 30/18 last year. She is 5'4" , 120lbs and she is strong. I want to move her to a -10! 31/21. I'm pretty sure she can handle it but am concerned thats to big of a jump.
Asked by Thomas on Mar 13, 2012
Stronger hitters in fastpitch softball are typically better suited with a bat around a -10. It's hard for us to say exactly how she'll perform with it though without being able to see and analyze her swing speed and bat control. I recommend finding a similar size bat at a local sporting goods store and have her take some dry swings with it to get a better idea.

How do you use the bat rotation numbers at the top of the bat?
Asked by Hellothere on Mar 06, 2012
These just act as a reminder to the player to rotate the bat between each hit to ensure an even break-in. For instance, if you're looking at the "5" on the index, the next hit you should rotate it so you're looking at the "6"

My daughter is nine and average size. Is there any benefit in purchasing a composite if she does not swing with much power?
Asked by Kt on Feb 22, 2012
Sure there is. Composite bats are great for hitters of all types. They do have the capabilities to outperform alloy bats and can be a good confidence booster.

Daughter is 13 years old, hitting a 32/20oz for 2 years. Looking to move her up to a 32/22 or 33/22. thoughts?
Asked by Krazey4SB on Feb 04, 2012
Moving up in weight is recommended from year to year. This helps the player get a little more pop.
· Feb 06, 2012
My daughter has been hitting the Easton Synge the last year and is very unhappy with the "End Load" which actually makes it feel heavier and sluggish. She is using a 32/21oz and is 14 years old 6' tall and plays comp FS for the past 6 years. and plays up. Could I continue with the 32/21oz with this bat? What is the cons of going to a 31/20oz if any?
Asked by linkster on Feb 03, 2012
The CF5 is going to be an excellent choice. If she has quick enough bat speed then I would leave her at a 32/21 or even move her up to a 33 inch based on her height and power.

· Jan 23, 2012
My soon-to-be-12 daughter is 5 foot 1 1/4 inches and 90 pounds. The knob on a 31 inch bat hits her right at the wrist when it is stood on end. She is strong, has long arms, but is not a power hitter. I'm wondering if I should stick with a 31 inch or go up to 32. She has a 31/19 now.
Asked by Softball Mom on Jan 23, 2012
It is always a good idea to slowly move them up in length and weight as they get older. If she is having no probelm swinging the 31/19 right now then I would suggest going up an inch and ounce.
· Jan 23, 2012

How well will hit handle cold weather, seems how it is cold in the early spring in Ohio.
Asked by TC on Jan 18, 2012
I always recommend to have an alloy back up for weather temps belore 55 degrees. Allo can withstand the cold better than composites can.

My daughter is currently using a 31/19. Hitting coach said she needs a 32" (want this bat at -11)but was cautioned from another not to make a jump from 19-22oz. Is it better to purchase a 31/20 or a 32/21 for this bat, and will there be an obvious difference in feel?
Asked by Cleighv on Dec 07, 2011
Going from a 19 ounce to 22 ounce is considerable jump. Since this bat is a -11, I think she would be fine with a 32/21. A 21 ounce would be an easier transistion and if she has good swing speed and bat control with the 19 ounce model she's currently using, a 21 ounce shouldn't be too much of a difference. You will be able to tell the difference in weight, but I think she'll be fine.
· Dec 07, 2011
Im stuck between getting my daughter a 30-19 or 31-20 , Is there really that much difference since this bat is a very light bat for its weight. Should we go with the longer bat?
Asked by PC on Dec 02, 2011
One inch and one ounce should not affect her.
· Dec 02, 2011

What is the difference this bat and the CF5 Hope DXCFH.
Asked by Chris on Nov 05, 2011
The DXCFS has a -11 length to weight ratio. The DXCFH (Hope) has a -10 length to weight ratio. Other than that, and different paint scheme, they are the same. Also, Demarini donates a portion of all proceeds of their Hope sales to the Susan G Komen foundation.

How much effect does one ounce (drop 10 vs. 11) make in bat speed and distance?
Asked by deuce on Oct 31, 2011
One ounce generally doesn't make a huge difference. Some batters prefer a heavier bat, some prefer a slightly lighter.
· Oct 31, 2011
how do i know if this bat will fit my daughter the bat she has know is 33in 20oz but i think it might be to heavey for her she is 12 and just need to know befor i purches this bat
Asked by Dr.Slice on Oct 25, 2011
I would recommend getting your hands on a bat that is the same size as the CF5 you're looking to purchase and have her take some swings with it. If the bat head drops and she struggles with swing speed, then it's probably too big. You could also purchase the bat from us and have her take some dry swings with it to see if it's a good fit. As long as it remains unused, you can send it back for a full refund or exchange.
