New for 2012! For the past several years, the CF4 has dominated discussions about the hottest bats on the market. This year, DeMarini raises the stakes by introducing a completely revamped successor, aptly named the CF5. The CF5 is built on the principle of geometric perfection. DeMarini has unveiled a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The molecular structure of the TR3 Strut handle is designed to efficiently transition power from the hands to the barrel to give players balance and consistency with every swing. This two-piece design is engineered durable with a very high strength to weight ratio, and light enough to be worthy of Stacked Composite walls. A bat like this can't be plugged with any average end cap, so DeMarini engineered the new Geo Endcap to meet its needs. The Geo Endcap is full of load-balancing triangles and is designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening vibration to give hitters an amazing feel, shot after shot! The CF5 Insane features a more endloaded weight for players looking to get an extra burst of power behind their swing! DeMarini: Insane Dedication to Performance! Approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. The CF5 Insane is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: hitting feels amazing with this bat. i highly suggest this for any softball player, mostly power hitters!
Cons: nada
by Ks.Dad - Nov 08, 2011
Pros: Love the pop of the CF5 insane.Out of the box it hits 20 to 30 ft farther than my daughters well broke in CF4.We tried the new -9 Easton Stealth before purchasing the CF5 insane....Not impressed..
Cons: Needs to be available in a -9 weight.

Pros: This bat is the BEST! I was getting infield hits, now the ball goes to the fence! It is definately worth the money. I recommend it for everyone. (:
Cons: i dont have any, this bat is absolutely perfect.
by fastpitch17 - Sep 26, 2011
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop right out of the wrapper. DD hitting hard shots while swinging easy, one of which hit the top of the fence...so close! Get one!
Cons:
by Anonymous - Aug 12, 2011
Pros: 14u DD starting launching the balls right away. didnt even need to break it in. Highly recommend it. Switched to this from a Combat Virus that went dead after 7 mos. DD loved how it felt lighter than her previous 32/22.
Cons: little pricey, but worth it.
by DeCeRaY717 - Apr 24, 2012
Pros: I LOVE THIS BAT! The pop you get off this bat is amazing. It boosted my self confidents at the plate a ton, and it will boost yours to.I hit three home runs so far in my high school season with this bat. I love the felling when I made contact with the bat on ball. I would always pick this bat over other bats because their is such a difference in making the ball fly.
Cons: I hate nothing about this bat.
by Fastpitch Dad - May 24, 2012
Pros: From day one, my daughter started seeing the improved distance with this bat...she is a natural power hitter, and has hit one home run last year with an alloy. She already has 3 dingers this year, and we have another half season to go!! She can't stop talking about this bat!!!
Cons: Can't keep everyone else in the dugout from picking it up for their at-bat!!!
by SoftballStar19 - Nov 03, 2011
Pros: I have nothing but good things to say about this bat. I have had the CFs since 12u and they have never let me down. Demarini, you have another winner!

Ask QuestionMy daughter just got this bat for her upcoming senior year of high school softball. What is the best fastpitch softball to use during practice in terms of COR and compression. We do not want to damage the bat with the wrong balls.
Asked by Softball Mom on May 20, 2012
You are going to want to search for softballs that are a 47 COR and have a max compression of 375. Here is the link to a site to check out some softballs. http://www.athleticsgalore.com/softball/fastpitch_softballs.htm

Can we use this bat in pitchnig practice when using the pitching machine with the dimpled balls? People have told me that this will kill the bat.Thanks.
Asked by Supersport396 on May 17, 2012
Composite bats like the 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane should not be used in a batting cage that uses yellow dimpled balls. The dimpled balls are too dense and can damage a composite bat.

Have decided to get my 14 year old daughter a Demarini Insane bat. Besides price whats the difference between the CF4 and the CF5 versions? Is the CF5 that much better that it's worth the extra $100.00 ?
Asked by sara's dad on May 15, 2012
The CF5 features a new composite material, called TR3 Strut Composite, that imitates the structure of crystals which are one of the strongest and most stable compounds on Earth. The triangle formation inside the barrel provides a fixed ratio of sides and angles so it's strong, stable and predictable - without any unnecessary weight! The CF4 did not feature this material, but is still a great bat. As far as whether it's worth the extra $100, that's really not a fair question as the CF4 is on closeout pricing through DeMarini. I think the CF5 is a great bat and would be well worth the extra money.

5'6" 115lb switch hitter mostly slaps is strong for her size. will be playing college ball next spring. thinking 32 22. would this be best choice?
Asked by JS on May 09, 2012
You must be accustomed to purchasing bats. A 32" 22oz bat would be an excellent size for you daughter based on her height, weight, age, and hitting style. One thing though, the Insane will have a slight end-loaded feel. But, if your daughter is strong like you say, then she shouldn't have a problem with it. The balanced version will be model DXCFP (just in case).
· May 09, 2012
I like this bat for my daughter. She's 11 and is solid. She plays slow pitch. Is this good for slow pitch I can't find a good slow pitch Demarini her size unless it's a fast pitch bat. Any suggestions?
Asked by Jenny on Apr 26, 2012
Slow pitch bats are designed for adults. They will be 34" in length and 26 to 30oz. We do not have any slow pitch bats for an eleven year old. A fastptich bat or youth bat will be your best option. The 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane is an end loaded bat, best suited for a power hitter.
· Apr 26, 2012
What would you recommend for a 14 year old, who hits the balls out of the park with the 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFP Fastpitch? Would you say to stick with that bat for the next year or get the 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane: DXCFI Fastpitch?
Asked by CALEIGH4nia on Apr 20, 2012
If your daughter has a lot of power and good bat speed, an end loaded bat like the 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane would be an excellent choice for her.

Is this bat approved for Illinois High School softball?
Asked by Karen on Apr 19, 2012
Most high schools require the bat to be ASA or USSSA certified. The 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane is approved for ASA and USSSA in 2012.
· Apr 19, 2012
Will this bat be certified for use in 2013?
Asked by sam on Apr 15, 2012
That all depends on your league or association. If you play ASA, yes, the DXCFI will be legal in 2013. If you play USSSA, no, the DXCFI does not have the new USSSA BPF stamp and will not be legal.
· Apr 15, 2012
Is the CF5 Insane harder to swing then the CF5 DXCFP?
Asked by Abbie on Apr 14, 2012
The 2012 DeMarini CF5 Insane: DXCFI Fastpitch bat has the same -10 oz. length to weight ratio as the 2012 DeMarini CF5 DXCFP Fastpitch bat, but the CF5 Insane has an end loaded swing weight. The CF5 DXCFP is going to provide a more balanced swing weight than the CF5 Insane. If you are not used to swinging an end loaded bat, it will have a heavier feel towards the end of the bat.
· Apr 14, 2012

Asked by Justin on Mar 28, 2012

My daughter's strenght is in slapping, would you recommend this bat for that purpose?
Asked by KappaDad on Mar 16, 2012
This bat is a more end- loaded bat designed for power hitters, giving them more pop. If your daughter can swing an end loaded bat then this will work for her.
· Mar 16, 2012
Hello! I want to know which bat is right for me when it comes to the new CF5 line. For school, I am the power hitter and I do not know if I want the regular CF5 or the Insane bat. I had the CF4 for about a year and I loved it until it cracked the other day. I love DeMarini bats and would love it if you could help me find a new bat that is perfect for me.
Asked by Christina on Mar 12, 2012
The Insane is an end-loaded model. It is better suited for stronger, power hitters with above average swing speed. If you think you fit that description, the Insane should be a great bat for you. However, if you used the regular CF4 (balanced version) with success last year, it wouldn't hurt to stick with the balanced version of this year's CF5.

What is the diff between the DXCFP and the DXCFI ? they are both for fastpitch but one is endloaded. Who would that be better for -
Asked by Jaydogg on Feb 29, 2012

I am trying to decide between the Xeno and the CF5 Insane for my daughter. She hits for average with good pop as well. She is 5'5" and weighs 130. Any suggestions?
Asked by ROCKERSDAD on Feb 20, 2012
Wow, these two bats have been very popular. The DXCFI is designed with an endloaded swing weight helping the player get more power. These two bats are hot out of the wrapper with huge sweet spots and great feel. Picking between these two will be based more on what she likes, she can't go wrong with either choice.
· Feb 21, 2012
I was thinking about ordering this bat for my daughter, however, I heard that a new stamp needs to be on the bat to be legal for 2013. Does this bat have that stamp or is it obselete in a year.

The DXCFI has all of the necessary certifications to be legal in 2013. For more information feel free to give our customer service a call at 1-866-321-2287.

Asked by Fred on Feb 03, 2012
The Insane is going to be the most end loaded and best for a power hitter like your daughter. I would stick with a 33 inch based on her height and weight.

im trying to decide between cf5 insane and easton stealth speed. im usually a power hitter so which would be better?
Asked by RAMPx14 on Nov 15, 2011
The Insane is an end load, which many power hitters love. The Speed is a slight end load, so it really depends on how much of an end load you prefer. Both are 2 piece all composite.
· Nov 15, 2011
My daughter hits for power but is also a line drive hitter. Would the Insane/Hope or Easton Stealth speed be better for her?

Whats the difference between The regular CF5 and this insane version? My daughter currently has a 2010 rockettech. Which one of th CF5's would be the best for her?
Asked by Dadddd on Nov 06, 2011
The Insane will be slightly end-loaded and preferred by stronger players who hit for power. If she's a strong power hitter, the Insane would be a good choice. With a -9 length to weight ratio, the DXCFF would be a good choice if she's more of a contact/gap hitter.

I need to decide between a 33/23 cf5 insane and 2012 33/23 Xeno. I like an end loaded feel, and I am a power hitter. I would like to hit more homers and harder line drives. Which would be the best for me?
Asked by rCd006 on Sep 12, 2011
I would recommend using the CF5 more than the Xeno. This bat has more of an endloaded weight which is designed for power hitters. If your a power hitter this bat is perfect.

How does this bat compare performance wise to the -10 CF5 hope? Is it true that this bat is more appropriate for power hitters than average hitters looking to improve their hitting?
Asked by me on Jun 23, 2011
Yes, the only difference is that the insane is endloaded and is more suited for power hitters. The ball will carry further for hitters with a quick swing speed.
