Pros: Awesome bat, with extreme pop. Compared to the easton stealth or demarini bats the xeno is basically a trampoline , and the bat itself isnt as "dense" as the stealth or CF4. The xeno's sound makes coaches turn their heads and really is an attention grabber. It also doesnt break at all. Ive had 4 2011 easton stealths which all cracked within 50 pitches... the xeno hasnt cracked with 1,000 pitches yet. highly recommend this bat.

Pros: Bought this bat 32 -10 to replace Mendoza 31 -11 for my 11 yr old daughter. Just got back from our 1st tourney w/this bat. Swung it on Sunday and got an legit HR. HOT right from the get go. Everyone could tell she was gonna use the "MAGIC BAT" by the distinct sound during warm-ups.
Cons: Would like to see this bat in a -11, but with an adjustment it works!!!

Pros: Bat is very hot! I created a 9 year old beast when I bought this one. Went from a Combat to the Xeno - not comparable. My daughter ate up a pitcher and a 3rd baseman her first game with it not to mention the shots to the outfield. Very Hot! Worth the money.
Cons: White handle gets dirty quickly. The whole team wants to now use it.

Pros: My daughter plays 18u so we have purchased over 20 composites through the years. This is the best bat she has ever had in her hands. It is hot right out of the wrapper. Best bat on the market!

Pros: Ball just fly's off the bat. I have never seen a ball come off a bat like this. It is scary how the ball reacts to this bat.
Cons: Seems slightly top heavy, my daughter went from a 32/20 DeMarini Vendetta to the 33/23 Xeno. Would have liked it more if it was a -11 33/22 bat. It is taking a while for her to get use to the added 3oz's. But it was definetely worth the jump.

Pros: Great bat it has alot of pop, we went from using a Rocket Tech for two years to the Xeno. She got it for christmas and has hit one bucket of balls and loves the bat, six went over the fence. The sound of the bat is not an issue when you see the results you get.

Pros: Hot bat from day one. My daughter plays 10u and we went from a combat to the Xeno. Well worth the money. It has raised her confidence at the plate when she sees the rockets that comes off it. I didn't think a bat could make that much difference in confidence or swings but I am a believer now. I would buy this bat even if it was 400+ bucks knowing what I know now. No sting - no matter where you hit ir or how cold it is. Those complaints from my daughter have stopped. Even when you know it should sting - nothing.
Cons: The defensive players need to be awake as the balls that come off this bat will hurt you. The sound, I wouldn't say is con. It is different but with the hit that comes off it and the sound - it makes people notice it and say wow! If you want your invest held low key and think only your kid will use it - don't fool yourself. The team will want to hit it - period.

Pros: Excellent responsiveness with contact on any part of the barrell. no break in needed. The softball popped off the bat in the first hit. continues to outperform the DeMarini CF4.
Cons: sound may intimidate the average hitter. When ball comes off the bat it sounds like you are breaking fine china. Really. Very unique sound to the bat! Don't let it scare you though.

Pros: HOTTEST BAT OUT THERE! I'm a college caliber player and I would not DARE go up to the box with any other bat. It's hot out of the wrapper. I've used friends' Demarinis and Eastons and they have NOTHING on the Xeno.
Cons: Some umps complain that it sounds dead but after they check they realize that it's not. It's really not a problem.

Pros: Awesome! I will not compare this bat with batting averages as we all know that has a lot to do with technique and hours and hours of hard work. My daughter is a good hitter at 12U but I will say she had her first grand slam with this bat the first weekend she used it. The ball comes off the bat with such pop it is scary. Just be careful with bunts, they could turn out to be line drives:)
Cons: Feels a little end-loaded, a little heavy on the barrel and has taken a little away from her snapping the bat head through. Just needs a little getting used to.

Pros: i have to say, we just got the bat. my daughter hit 5 over the fence with it at practice. justbats had an issue with fedex. we ordered friday for saturday delivery. fedex dropped the ball. but just bats took very good care of us throughout the ordeal. and i would be happy to order from just bats anytime. they are a great company! did everything they said they were gonna do! thanks

Pros: Great pop despite the sound. My daughter paid for half of this bat because I wouldn't spend $300 on a Louisville Composite which are notorious for losing their pop quickly. Hopefully this bat will make me change my look at Louisville bats.

Can you use this bat in pitching practice hitting of a pitching machine using dimpled balls or will it kill this bat? I have been told by some coaches not to use a composite bat on a pitching machine with dimpled balls. Will it ruin this bat?

Composite bats like the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite should not be used in a batting cage that uses yellow dimpled balls. The dimpled balls are too dense and can damage the composite material.

Confusion is very abundant when it comes to single-wall and double-wall bats. The terms single-wall and double-wall traditionally referred to aluminum bats only, not composite bats. All composite bats (like the Xeno) are comprised of multiple layers of composite material, but are deemed by most organizations as single wall bats. Also, the terms double-wall, triple-wall and multi-wall are really one in the same.

The governor disc inside the bat does not prevent the bat from getting hotter. The governor actually allows the bat to flex to its maximum performance. The disc cannot be taken out.

Our coach has bought the TCB Total Control ORIGINAL Weighted Batting Balls. Is it alright to hit these with the Xeno?

I really wouldn't recommend using any bat with a any weighted baseball or softball. Weighted balls have been known to cause damage to bats. If you do use them, I wouldn't go over 15-20 hits via tee work or soft toss.

Based on her height and weight a 32 inch model would be recommended. The Xeno is a great bat with tons of pop. A 32 inch 22 ounce model should be a good size for her.

I have a 10 year old with good hand speed. She has been swinging a Easton Synge 29" -11.5 drop for 2 years. She is now 54" and 88 lbs. Is going up to a 31/21 going to be too big of an adjustment for her?

In my opinion, that's a pretty big jump. However, it is hard for me to say whether it is too much without being able to see and analyze her swing with different size bats. Based on her height, weight, and the size bat she's been using, I would recommend a 30 inch bat with a weight between 18 and 20 ounces.

Unfortunately, Louisville hasn't released the specs yet for their 2013 Xeno. Louisville's 2013 fastpitch line should be on the market this Fall, but an exact date has not been established yet. Based on her size,a 33 inch model would be a great option.

Contact hitters tend to concentrate on placement of the ball into the field of play. Power hitters tend to swing for distance on their hits, whether it be a homerun or deep ball hit.

The FP12X and the NANOFP10 are two very well balanced bats, either one of these two will be a good choice. The NANOFP10 has an alloy barrel and the FP12X has a composite barrel. Picking one over the other will be based on what the player is comfortable swinging.

I have a 16u DD that is small for her age but very athletic and spunky. She has very fast bat speed. Mostly a base hitter with very good batting average. She has been using a 2010 Rocketech. WE were looking to change to the Xeno. What do you think.

The -8, -9, and -10 numbers stand for the length to weight ratio of the bat. To find the weight of a bat by using the length to weight ratio, you simply subtract the -8, -9, or -10 from the length of the bat to find the weight of the bat. For example, a 30" bat with a -10 oz. drop weighs 20 ounces.

As of right now, we do not have the 2013 models in from Louisville Slugger. In 2013, many leagues will require the new USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp. The 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat does not feature the new stamp, but is still legal for play in 2012 sanctioned events by ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF.

The biggest difference between the two bats is that the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat is a two-piece bat and the TPS Catalyst is a one-piece design. If your daughter is a contact hitter, I would go with the XENO, but if she is a power hitter, I would go with the Catalyst.

The -12, -10, and -9 numbers are the length to weight ratio for each model. The length to weight ratio tells you how much each bat weighs. You take the length of the bat and subtract the -12, -10, or -9 and that totals the weight of the bat in ounces. For example, a 30" bat with a -10 oz. drop weighs 20 ounces. Based off of your daughter's height and weight, the recommended bat length for her is a 34" bat.

There is not a big difference between the 2011 XENO and the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat. The 2012 model will have more up to date research and development put towards technology in the bat.

The XENO FP12X does not appear to have the 2012 USSSA 1.20 BPF new stamp on it. Will this bat be legal for use in 2013 per the new USSSA rule change?

In 2013 USSSA sanctioned events, the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat will need the new USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp and as of 04/16/2011 this bat does not have the required stamp. For 2012, the XENO is legal for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF.

My girl is 5'2" 110lbs and is a dead pull hitter, no matter how fast the pitcher is. We tried the 32" XENO and loved it! She is a strong girl with fast hands. Would you see her in a 33" or stay at 32"? Thanks for your time.

Based off of your girl's height and weight, the recommended length is a 32" bat. However, if she is hitting the 32" perfectly fine and would be more comfortable with a longer bat, she could go up to a 33" bat. If she is performing well with the 32" bat and is comfortable with the size, I would probably keep her in a 32" bat.

i currently use an Easton Triple 7 31", 21.5 oz. bat. What is the differnce in my bat and the XENO?

We don't carry the Easton Triple 7, but I did some research and from what I found the difference is the Triple 7 is a one-piece all Scandium alloy bat and the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat is a two-piece all composite bat. They will have a slightly different feel upon contact. Even though the XENO is fully composite, the TPS XENO does not require a break-in period.

Louisville did upgrade the composite material in the FP12X. Their new LS-2X Composite is supposed to be stronger and just as high-performing as the iST composite used in the FP11X. Other than that, there are no major differences.

At what temperature is this bat limited in use? We live in Chicago.

It is recommended that composite bats like this one not be used in temperatures colder than 55 degrees. Cold weather causes the core of the softball or baseball to become harder which can make the bat more susceptible to denting or cracking. In colder weather, I would make every effort to keep the balls warm rather than worring about keeping the bat warm.

Based off of your daughter's height and weight, I would recommend that she keeps swinging a 30" bat. If she is currently swinging the 30" 18 oz. very well and you feel like she can swing a bat that weighs 2 more ounces, the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat may not be too heavy for her. The weight of the bat is really going to depend on her current bat speed and strength. A 2 ounce jump will require an adjustment, but if she has a great bat speed already, the adjustment to a heavier bat will provide her with more momentum when hitting the ball.

That is going to really come down to personal preference. The average size used in her height and weight range is going to be a 33", but that does not mean that she cannot swing a 34" bat.

If you currently swing a 33" 23 oz. bat and you like the feel of it and feel that your bat speed is fine with these dimensions, then I would probably stick with the same size. If you want a little change in your swing, then it won't hurt to change sizes either based off of what you think would feel better for you. Based off of her height and weight, I would recommend her sticking with a 33 inch bat. A 33 inch bat will be the best size for her according to what she has been swinging. As far as the weight goes, it is really going to depend on her personal preference and also how well her bat speed is now. If she is completely satisfied and hitting the ball well, I would stay where she is at.

The major difference is the S1 iD technology used in the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPS XENO Composite: FP12X Fastpitch bat. The Xeno has a governor placed inside the barrel to ensure that the bat achieves the maximum allowable performance from your first swing. Without the governor, the bat would actually exceed the performance limits set in place. The Xeno is also a two-piece bat with more flex, the Synergy Speed is a stiffer one-piece bat. Both are great bats.

If she is swinging a 33" 23 ounce bat now and she is swinging the bat well, then it would probably benefit her to stick with the same size that she is currently using. If she is struggling with her current bat or she doesn't like the feel of it, then she may want to go with a different size.
