Pros: Feels extremely comfortable the second you take it out of the wrapper. My girlfriend is using it too and even though it is end loaded still doesn't have a problem getting it around...couldn't be happier
Cons: should have bought it sooner
New for 2013! It's time to step your game up to the NeXT level. The Miken NXT Freak is the bat that's going to take you there. By combining the most advanced layering handle system on the market with Miken's new HBF Technology, the NXT Freak is clearly a cut above the competition. HBF, or Hyperbolic Barrel Flex, Technology allows the multi-layer walls of the NXT Freak to become "fully released" for hot out of the wrapper performance! The proprietary layering of these walls extends the barrel flex to produce a 20% larger sweetspot. Vortex Handle Technology also uses multiple layers, and harnesses the power of composite braids to distribute the load evenly and increase the bat's strength. This also helps all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex and performance. The whole bat is made from Miken's classic R900 Composite that has proven year after year that it is capable of enduring grueling play and delivering unrivaled performance. Enhancing the NXT Freak's durability even further is Miken's proprietary Durashell Technology (DST). DST acts as a composite shield on the outer shell to maximize out of the wrapper performance and overall bat longevity. An Extreme X-Tack Grip finishes off the NXT Freak to give players the comfort and tack they would expect from a bat this phenomenal. Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The NXT Freak is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

by 12rememberjoshua - Mar 12, 2012
Pros: I buy a lot of bats but this bat is truely amazing, great feel to the swing, amazing sweetspot. Breaks in really fast, I was hitting bombs right out of the wrapper. The ball still flies even when mis hit. Without a doubt this is now my favorite bat!
Cons: none
by MONEY - Mar 14, 2012
Pros: The bat was hot right out of the box. A few swings and the ball was jumping over the fence. I love the flat grey finish.
Cons: White grip does not work well with West Virginia dirt.Dark grey would have been nice.
by Super_Gillie - Apr 16, 2012
Pros: Bat has sick Pop right out of the wrapper. Had my first game of the season and hit 3 dingers with it, and I'm sure the best is yet to come.
Cons: None as of yet
by JIMN - Apr 21, 2012
Pros: Very nice bat. Good size hotspot. Stay away from the end but the rest is sweet. If I lost it I would buy another tomorrow.
Cons: Out of the box the graphics had a tiny wrinkle. I thought it was a crack. It freaked me out but bat performs great!

by DEAFPOWERDUDE - Apr 27, 2012
Pros: BE HONEST WITH YOU .. YES,, THIS BAT IS GREAT POP OVER FECNE NO PROBLEM !! DONT NEED SWING HIT HARD JUST SWING EASY ...IT WILL POP EASLIY...
Cons: BUT ONE THING PROBLEM IS WHITE GRIP GET DIRTY FAST BETTER TO CHANGE GRIP TO DRAK GREY ...

Pros: I posted a review on this bat when I first got it and gave it 4/5 stars. I am amending that with a 5/5 star rating. After getting used to the weight and breaking it in, its an absolute beast. I average at least a HR per game with this in my bag. I've always been a power hitter, but, this has definitely given me the edge I was looking for. The graphics are awesome too. Miken did an awesome job. No need to be afraid of ASA's classifications. Worth the $299.99
Cons: Like I said before, the weight feels very end-loaded for those of you that are worried about bat speed. But if you have the strength and speed to swing it, the end-load with add extreme power, even to miss-hits. The grip gets dirty a little fast, but who cares. I cant recall having a "pretty" bat that was used frequently.
by NEKIM - Apr 16, 2012
Pros: Big Sweet Spot Lots of Distance. Best Bat Miken has made in a while
Cons: Salvo is close to this bat with a smaller sweet spot but smaller price tag.
by God Father - Apr 23, 2012
Pros: Holy Cow this bad is unreal ..... Im putting the ball over trees with this bat .... feels GREAT , ONLY 20 SWINGS on it and im ROCK'n the ball . Past sunday i went 6 for 8 with 1 HR 2 screaming singles and 3 ground rule doubles ( hit into trees double not HR ) :(
Cons: NOOOOONE !
by shoe - May 02, 2012
Pros: no break in time. explodes off the bat. best $300 ever spent
Cons: every one on my team wants to use it
by batman - May 02, 2012

Cons: cant hide it from team they all want to use it its mine!
by MrUnderArmourX32 - May 16, 2012
Pros: I got this bat 2 weeks ago and have hit with it a few times since then. The first hit out of the wrapper sounded AMAZING!! The feel of the bat is incredible. The ball screams off of this bat even straight out of the wrapper. This bat is hotter out of the wrapper than some other 200 and 300 dollar bats I've used after they were broken in. This bat will definitely be a popular one!! I am extremely glad I picked this bat. I was considering this Miken NXT Freak Supermax and the Worth 454 Legit. I'm very glad I picked the Miken over the Worth. Also, the matte white paint on this bat looks awesome!!
Cons: If I were forced to pick a con with this bat, it'd be the white color only because it gets dirty easier. I tend to like darker bats because they don't get as nasty looking as white bats. This is still a great looking bat though.
by N8 - May 22, 2012
Pros: I don't care what kind of rating my review gets, but I am very thankful for Miken and the pride they have for America. "Made in the USA" is printed on every bat I have seen. I am proud to be an AMERICAN and I am glad to buy from a bat company who is proud of it too.
Cons: The DC-41 is not ASA. Would love to get a piece of that.
by KnightMare - Mar 07, 2012
Pros: So far so good. Only hit about 60 balls. Definately needs to be broken in. Graphics are killer looking. Nice bat.
Cons: White grip doesnt stay white for long. No biggy though.
by Scott - Apr 23, 2012
Pros: Great Grip, feel, and weight. Has good pop, and with some break in I think it could be a beast. I just got about 1-15 quality hits on it today. I Usually swing a balanced bat, so its taking a little bit of getting used to. Hit about 6 DEEP bombs with it today though (out of those 15)
Cons: Grip gets dirty fast, and for a balanced swinger, the weight is very different and very end-loaded. But, that weight adds to the power of the bat A LOT. Sweet spot doesnt seem very large right out of the wrapper. Ill re post after its completely broken in.
by scott - Apr 26, 2012
Pros: miken has always been a great bat this one is just like the old ones but better it has more distance
Cons: not sure how long its gonna take to break in
by babe ruth - Apr 12, 2012
Pros: hot right out of the wrapper hit 4 bombs in a ten pitch BP first swings of the season
Cons: bat feels dead and like it lost its pop after a couple practices and scrimmage kinda disappointed
by slh - Apr 12, 2012

Cons: bat is dead frind has the same bat an i hit good with it i think i juist may have got a bad bat

Ask QuestionWhat size would be better for me? I'm 6'1" and weigh 235 pounds. I currently own 34- 25 Miken for my fast pitch. I need one for my slow pitch one.
Asked by The Beast on May 23, 2012
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA is and end loaded bat, better for a player with some power. If you have power we would recommend a 34/28, otherwise a 34/27 would be a better choice.
· May 23, 2012
Trying to decide if I should get the balanced or end-loaded bat. Normally swing a 2009 Easton SCN9 Stealth 27 oz and hit right/right center, 220lbs, 5'10. Should I go with a end-loaded, should I drop down to a 26oz? Not really sure if I qualify for a power hitter but most of my hits go to the outfield between right center and right gap.
Asked by 1low56 on May 16, 2012
We recommend a more balanced bat for your type of hitter. Although, there is not a rule that says you can't swing an end loaded bat. If you decide to go with an end loaded bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA we recommend dropping down to a 26 oz.
· May 16, 2012
Hey I was wondering if this bat was legal for men's and coed leagues and what sized would be better for me. I'm 6'3" and weigh 195 if you could answer my question that would be great thank you.
Asked by cherokee on May 04, 2012
Well... I would be unable to answer the first part of your question because not all rec and coed leagues abide by the same set of rules. However, this is an ASA bat that is widely accepted. I would recommend checking your league rules. Based on your size, I would recommend a 28 ounce bat.

How does this bat compare to the Freak FX700?
Asked by big6ft4 on Apr 30, 2012
Both, the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax and the Freak FX700 are one-piece composite bats. With that being said, they will perform just about the same. Both bats have an end loaded feel, have great pop, and would be a great choice!
· Apr 30, 2012
I am looking for a good ASA bat. Would you recommend the Miken NXT Freak or the Worth Resmondo?
Asked by eagle on Apr 04, 2012
Both of these bats are great bats. Since they are very similar in the construction and design, they bats will actually perform just about the same. They are both end loaded bats with extended sweet spots and great pop. I don't think you could go wrong with either bat!
· Apr 04, 2012
I am a female playing coed slow pitch would this work for me? I'm about 5'5 150lbs
Asked by Molley on Mar 28, 2012
The SuperMax is end loaded, and it best suited for a power hitter. A balanced bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak Balanced ASA: SNXTBA.
· Mar 28, 2012
I am a power hitter on my team. I currently use the DeMarini Flyswatter and hit BOMBS it's a balanced bat , this is end loaded, does this mean I will hit the fall further / harder with an end loaded bat ?
Asked by god father on Mar 28, 2012
An end loaded bat will provide more power, as long as you can pull the bat through the zone. If you have quick enough bat speed the SuperMax would be a great choice.
· Mar 28, 2012
Hey Guys, Im looking to buy a slo pitch softball ball bat. Ive been looking at the NXT and not sure what the right size ould be for me. IM 6'2 215. I usually use a stealth 27oz and a Demarini 30 oz. What would be a good size?
Asked by Joe on Mar 24, 2012
Based on that information, I think a 28 ounce SNXTMA would be a great choice.
· Mar 24, 2012
Since this bat is both ASA and USSSA approved does it consist of less power as compared to the USSSA version of this bat????
Asked by DA on Mar 24, 2012
Yes. ASA bats have a more strict standard to meet compared to USSSA. The USSSA version will have a higher BPF and will perform better because of this.
· Mar 24, 2012
Will it be leagal for ASA not just for 2013, but for more years to come?
Asked by SwingingSwinging on Mar 06, 2012
This bat has the new stamp on it, which makes is legal for use in 2013 and beyond. This bat will be legal for use in the years after 2013 as long as the rule don't change again.
· Mar 06, 2012
So does that mean this bat is not legal to use till 2013?
Asked by IronMonkey1 on Mar 03, 2012
The 2013, in the product name for the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch means that this is Mikens 2013 and newest model. This bat is ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF approved for play this year and the stamps make it legal through 2013!
· Mar 03, 2012
I am getting this bat! I have never swung an end loaded bat. What is the difference between an end loaded bat and a balanced bat?
Asked by BiggDawg on Feb 25, 2012
End loaded bats will seem heavier than a balanced bat, because the weight is distributed more towards the end of the bat. This technology can help increase the velocity of the ball on contact.
· Feb 25, 2012
do they make a balanced model for the nxt freak ? and from the end how far back does the weighted area go?
Asked by scoop on Jan 25, 2012
They do make a balanced model in bat. We should be getting them in very soon. The weight is going to all directed towards the end of the barrel
· Jan 25, 2012
