Pros: man,let me tell you just got it today had my daughter swing it for the first time and booooom!!!!!a must have bat.
Cons: had one miss hit on it at the end of the bat and the paint on the rolled in already has a chip coming off.

Are you sure this is a Tee Ball Bat? I bought it and it indicates softball on the handle and on the barrel? I have a Tee Ball tournament in a month or so as well as league games and do not want to do anything against the rules.

Is this a good bat for a rookie in 8U machine pitch or would the Catayst be a better choice? Or are they the same bat with a different color scheme and price?

Tee Ball bats should not be used in machine pitch. The walls are too thin and will dent. We suggest looking at our Youth Big Barrel bats. We recommend using our bat coach for exact sizing; ttp://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.

Seeing as the bat needs to be broken in, does it need to be broken in like any other composite, meaning turn the bat 1/4 inch each time for 250-500 swings? While I could do this myself, any suggestions on how to get a 5 year old to do this?

Because this is a tee ball bat and it won't be facing live pitching, it doesn't really need a true break-in process. Only composite bats that will be used against live pitching need to be broken in.

The Louisville Slugger Xeno will have some break in time because it is a full composite, but after that it should have its full pop.
