Pros: This bat has a lot of pop right out of the plastic my team 12u softball team really liked it I know once broken in it will be a team favorite
Cons: Nothing bad to say as of yet
by D3 - May 11, 2013
Pros: Great Pop! Used in U10 girls loving it!
by JP - Jul 26, 2013
Pros: This bat has nice pop when it's new, and it improves once it's broken in. The light weight makes it good for slap hitters or smaller batters who need extra length to get to the outside corner. My daughter loved the 28" version so much we're buying the 30" one now that she's taller.
Cons: The tape at the top and bottom of the grip will peel quickly. I replaced it with Gorilla Grip. Annoying, but not a huge deal.
by softball dad. - Oct 19, 2013
Pros: My 10 year old now is faster with her swing, and hitting the ball about 20 feet farther than before.
Cons: None so far.
by joe - Nov 03, 2013
Pros: my daughter loves this bat she went 9 for 10 in her last 3 games with 3 triples she hitting the ball harder and longer
by softball dad - Sep 16, 2013
Pros: Great feel and already slugging balls.couldnt be happier.once broken in cant imagine
Cons: No cons that I am aware of yet
by Dave - Oct 09, 2013
Pros: WOW, great pop out of the box, my daughter is 12 playing in a U14 league and is smashing the ball to the fence and sometimes further. Light does not describe how easy this bat is to swing. Her swing is about a 1/4 faster and on contact look out! Price is great, graphics phenomenal overall feel outstanding. If you have a daughter playing up in a league this is the edge lighter bat improves bat speed equals driving hits to the outfield.

Pros: great pop out of the wrapper. My 8u girls love it. Great bat for the price.
Cons: none at this time. only used in 3 games. will keep you posted
by Softball momma - Mar 29, 2013
Pros: Great pop right out of the wrapper!! Love the sound of the ball coming off the composite! My daughter is 9 and only weighs 60lb. She is clearing the infield easily with this bat! She loves it! If she hits the sweet spot it flys!!!!
Cons: Restrictions that come with most composite. We live in PA so we have to make sure it is warm enough to use... We did have to buy an alternate bat to use in batting cages. She much prefers her "Master Miken". Yep she named it!
by Shane - Feb 14, 2013
Pros: great pop, excellent weight to length ratio, my 7 year old daughter is a dangerous hitter with this bat
Cons: i thought it would be more of a red colored bat, turned out to be almost pink
by Anonymous - Mar 25, 2013
Cons: Had this bat for 13 months and it completely broke in half at the handle. My 10 year old daughter used it and I thought she would get a few more years out of it than she did. I would not recommend this bat for anyone.
by Alex - Mar 22, 2013
Cons: just bought bat about 3 weeks ago. for some reason this bat seemed to sting my daughter's hand more often then not. She's a 12u player and has experience playing so I know its not her. Bat just broke completely apart from handle. Not happy at all. Brand new bat.

I need to know if the Miken or the DeMarini Bustos is right for my 8 year old.
Asked by nikki on Feb 19, 2014
The Miken Halo Light: HALO12 Fastpitch will be very light at the -12.5 drop size. The DeMarini Bustos will be even lighter at -13. If your hitter already has a great swing speed the Miken -12.5 may be the more appropriate size for that age.

My daughter is 7 and I'm considering getting her a 28" 15.5 oz. bat. My daughter is around 49" tall and weighs 62 lbs. She has decent strength for a 7 year old. Is this bat too long for someone her size? Right now she's swinging a 15 oz., but it's only 25" and I feel it's too way too short.
Asked by LB_CA on Feb 14, 2014
Based on her height and weight we recommend a 28" 15.5 oz. The Miken Halo Light (HALO12) is a very balanced, lightweight bat. It would be a great choice for a younger player.

My daughter has an Easton CV12. How would the Miken compare to this bat? Also, we live in Maine and spring and early summer temps can be on the cool side. Would this bat be recommended or should I stick to aluminum?
