Akadema is the most exciting baseball and softball company in the world. Akadema's ownership attributes an increasing market share to their innovative quality professional product line in contrast to mass-produced products that have little to do with quality, feel, or design that raise the level of play. Born to satisfy the needs of the competitive fastpitch player, the Akadema FastPitch Design Series is handcrafted to increase your level of performance on the field. Constructed of U.S. Steer hide throughout the pocket and webbing, the back of the glove features exclusive AkademaLyte leather, decreasing the overall weight of the glove and allowing for a faster break-in period and a more manageable feel. Smaller finger stalls used to decrease the distance between the thumb and index finger and Akadema Grasp Clasp Wrist System allow for increased playability. Free Shipping.

Pros: Very well made, high quality glove. A little oil and some catch and it broke right in.
Cons:

Pros: It seems like a nice glove although it will take a while to complete the break in period.
Cons: I probably would not have bought it if I would have known that it was Chinese made. I wanted an American made glove.

Pros: great glove, akadema gloves seem to play small, break in was 3 days till game use, dd going on 3rd season and uses glove for ss and 2nd it is holding up great, buying a 13" akadema as she may play some OF a couple years of HS

Pros: I bought this glove for my 10 year old daughter who plays on a travel team. She has small hands and this glove really fits her well. We looked at about 6 gloves and this was by far the least expensive, but the quality is on par with many more expensive gloves. It is made overseas, but if it was made here in the US it would be a $150+ glove. We steamed it and oiled the glove and played catch for about a week. Pretty close to broken in. Overall a great glove for the money and an excellent choice for someone with small hands.
Cons: It harder to close than a Mizuno (her previous glove) and is taking a little more break in than we anticipated, but much less break in than say a Nokona.

Ask QuestionDoes this glove seem hold up well? Any other recommendations for pitcher/ 2nd base combo?
Asked by jc on Oct 20, 2011
The AJB74 is a well made glove, and should last well. Size wise it is the right size.

My daughter has a very small hand. She pitches and play 2d on a 16U travel team. Her Nokona 13" is too big and heavy, particularly at 2d. Would this be a good choice? Any other recommendations?
Asked by andy on Sep 05, 2011
This should be a very good glove for her. This glove is not going to be as heavy as the Nokona and it will still be very durable. The glove will be one that is easier to break in and has a strap on it if the glove is still a little small.

Does this glove only come in 12 in model? How does the weight of this glove compare to the Akadema Reptilian model?
Asked by Softball Mom on Aug 04, 2011
In this specific style, a 12 inch is all that is made. However, the ABU73 is a 12.75 inch model, and the ACE70 is a 13 inch model. There will be no noticeable differences in weight between two models of the same size.

How do you think this glove would work for an 11 yr old player? She plays shortstop and pitches.
Asked by kevin on May 16, 2011
This is definitly a glove she could use and grow into over the next several years. Typically, for 11 and 12 year olds a 11.5 to 12 inch glove is recommended. At 12 inches, this glove in on the high end of that scale and she shouldn't have a problem with it. I think it would be an excellent option.
