Pros: This is my second season using my USA134H which is about 75 games plus many practices. Having used Rawlings for many years starting with my XPG6 Iwas reluctant to change.I believe I've found in Akedema, quality on a it's highest level. I'll soon be calling Bill at Akadema to build a custom glove for next seasons use. Keep up the great work I know anyone who uses Akadema will be a user for life.
Cons:
In August 2008, Akadema did what very few American companies do these days. They brought American manufacturing home and created jobs for American craftsman. Why is this so unique? Since the 1950's the American baseball glove manufacturing industry has shrunk from an estimated five thousand jobs to less then fifty jobs in 2007. A new baseball factory has not been built in the USA by an established recognized brand in nearly two decades. The reasons for the demise are all too familiar; after the costs of wages, insurance, benefits, taxation, and regulations. These obstacles increase the products cost over three times and make it impossible to compete against foreign imports. Then why would Akadema build gloves in the USA? The ownership has a love of the game and the USA. Akadema believes Americans should be able to make products which are loved and respected around the world. Our goal is to be the USA's largest domestic baseball glove manufacturer and make the best quality product. Akadema is willing to sacrifice the bottom line. We hope you will support Akadema and it's American initiative. All products, built here in the USA or abroad, will help Akadema create more American jobs. The Akadema Patriot Series: USA134H is available in a right hand thrower. However, we are currently out of stock. This model is discontinued and we will not be receiving any additional inventory. The USA134H is an adult baseball model. We would suggest the Akadema Reptilian Fastpitch Series: ATS77.

Would you recommend this or the Wilson a2000 1799 SS? Which one has a deeper pocket? Which one has a smaller hand opening? Thanks.

The Akadema has a slightly smaller hand opening and a finger stalls that are a little more narrow. The A2000 1799SS has a slightly deeper pocket. It comes down to your preference, but personally, I like the fit and feel of the Wilson A2000.
