Known for comfortable gloves that perform unlike anything else on the field, Akadema has raised the bar with the Torino Series. With a light brown palm and a chocolate brown shell, the Torino Series performs even better than it looks! Akadema's newest glove line is made from soft and smooth kip leather that enables the Torino Series to be 20% lighter than traditional gloves, yet just as durable as U.S. steerhide. These gloves break in quickly yet retain their shape better than any other glove on the market. This 33.00 Inch Catcher's Mitt features a two-piece closed hinge web design that is optimally designed for easier ball retention. The deep pocket on this mitt makes dropped balls a thing of the past, but the unique shape still allows for quick ball transfer. With a conventional open back, the Torino Series Catcher's Mitt gives players the control they've been looking for. Akadema: Bring Your "A" Game! Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionDoes this model have the finger hammocks like the asm43 or like the previous apm41 model? My son had a praying mantis apn41 patriot model and I sold it and bought a pro preffered by Rawlings, but he actually liked Akadema better, so I am going back to this glove but don"t know if I should get the 47 or 43 model
Asked by freddog on Mar 07, 2012
Yes, this mitt does indeed have finger hammocks for the thumb and pinky.

Which catchers mitt should i get this one or the louisville slugger tpx silver slugger model?
Asked by Joe on May 30, 2011
That's an excellent question that I really can't answer for you. So much of finding the right glove comes down to the personal preference of the player. The Silver Slugger may be a littler lighther in weight because of the mesh back and it is also a half size smaller. Both will have deep pockets. Both are made from top-of-the-line materials, but the Akadema is all leather and may have a slight edge in durability. I would put these two mitts on par with each other and if I were picking one for myself, it would all come down to looks.

is this a very good glove for a 14 year old boy?

Yes, this would be a very good glove for a 14 year old. This glove should last him through high school. This glove has been known to last a long time.

i am 14 and use a 32 inch catchers mitt. a rawlings gold glove. should i go up by an inch or by a half inch? should i get a 32.50 or a 33
Asked by tm on Apr 28, 2011
It really comes down to personal preference. Most 14 year olds will use a glove between 32 and 33 inches. If you want a glove you can use throughout high school I would probably recommend a 33 inch mitt.

will this glove keep its shape and not get flimsy
Asked by umidk on Apr 12, 2011
This glove has a very good reputation of keeping its form and being a very good glove. As long as the glove is taken care of in the off season, this should be a very good glove for years to come.
