Pros: My ten year old granddaughter is the catcher for my 13U ASA team. With 12 & 13 year old pitchers throwing 40 to 50 mph fast balls, break in was a snap. Pros: Wanted to break in the glove, so I used it to warm-up one of my pitchers. Nothing popped out during warm-ups, so I used it in the first inning and have been using it since! Glove is ready to use when you get it!

This should work pretty well for a player who's 11 or older, especially if she's using a 12 inch softball. It will be a softer leather with plenty of padding thay should be easy for her to use.

My daughter is 8 y/o travel ball player, she currently uses a 12.5 glove. How does that correlate with a catcher's mitt? Is this a good start mitt for a 10 and under fastpitch ball?

The size of the player's fielding glove doesn't necessarily correlate with catchers mitt size. For 8 and 9 year olds, a 31, 31.5 or 32 inch catcher's mitt is typically recommended.

A male might have a hard time getting their hand inside this glove. The hand stall is smaller to fit a female’s hand. A male might also have trouble with the finger stalls. They might be a little trouble with getting the fingers into the stalls of the glove.

Is a 33" a basic fit for a 16 year old girl. The pocket seems very small once we received this. Does it relax some & open up a little after use?

Generally, a 33 inch mitt is recommended for a 16 year old catcher in fastpitch. The more you use the glove, the more it should develop its own shape and form. Keep in mind, we do have a 100 day, no questions asked return policy, so you have 100 days to use the glove and return it for a full refund or exchange if you're not satisfied for whatever reason.
