Pros: Received glove today for my 8yr old. It looks pretty durable and cool if your a little girl. I see a lot of catchers at that age with fielding gloves so I want her ahead of the game with the feel of a catchers glove.
Cons: Fairly stiff. Might need a couple weeks of use to break in.
Louisville Slugger continues their tradition of creating quality ball gloves for all ages and levels of play. The Diva Series is specifically designed for youth fastpitch players who are just starting out. With a Buffalo Leather palm and mesh backing, the Diva series requires no break-in, yet is quite durable. The lightweight mesh back provides for very easy closure, and the X-traSoft Palm Lining will give your young slugger an unmatched feeling of comfort and control. The Diva features a closed back with a velcro wrist strap making it easy to adjust to any young hand. In addition, the Diva offers narrower finger stalls and a smaller wrist opening to ensure a snug fit. The deep pocket makes catching a breeze, and with appealing colors and style, your developing player will gain a great sense of confidence in the behind the plate. Ask QuestionMy daughter is 8 and is her second year in ASA 10U. She wants to try catching we want to get the smallest, light mitt we can for her but want one that will work for this level of competition. What would you suggest? She is a petite girl.

The Louisville Slugger Diva Fastpitch Series Catcher's Mitt would be a great mitt for a smaller player.

What is the appropriate catchers glove for a ten year old playing travel softball?
Asked by Sharon on Aug 14, 2011
For a 10 year old softball player, a mitt between 29.5 and 32 inches is recommended. If she is fairly new to the position or softabll in general, I would lean more towards the smaller side.

I bought this glove for my very petite 11 y/o (she built more like an 8 or 10 yo).... We have had the glove for about 3 monthes now. She has been catching everyday w/ it but the 12 inch ball continues to bounce out of the mitt (it is still a little stiff even after repeated oil treatments). What I am wondering is..... Does she need a bigger glove for a 12inch ball or do we need to give this glove more time?
Asked by Gonzgrl on Apr 16, 2011
If they're using a 12 inch softball, I would recommend moving up to a 31.5 inch mitt. At 29.5 inches, this glove is more commonly used by younger player in leagues using 11 inch softballs.

This glove is recommended for girls 10 years?
Asked by Jorge Rivera on Feb 08, 2011
A 29.5 inch mitt, like this one, will be one of the smallest fastpitch catcher's mitts and would be good for a 10 year old.
