Louisville Slugger was the pioneer of the exclusive female fitting glove. The Valkyrie series of fastpitch gloves has become as staple on softball fields around the world. Not only do these gloves have a comfortable fit, but there isn't a better value out there as far as softball gloves go. The Valkyrie series gloves are made from premium grade, oil-treated steer hide leather for a soft feel and long-lasting shape. The female fit pioneered by Louisville Slugger means narrower finger stalls and smaller wrist openings for a snug fit and better control. Inside, full grain leather linings help the glove keep its shape and give players a phenomenal feeling. These gloves also feature Bruise-Gard Padding to give the player extra protection from hard hit or thrown balls. The Valkyrie series gloves have dye-through lacing to provide extra durability so that they can withstand even the most grueling softball season. This 33.00 inch catcher's mitt features a closed back and H-web for excellent control behind the plate. Louisville Slugger: Performance Products for Championship Performances! Free Shipping!

Father looking to buy catcher's mitt for daughter for softball travel team. She is almost 11 years old 5'3 and about 115. pounds. I am thinking this would be a good fit?
Asked by Rod on Oct 19, 2011
I would recommend she go down a .50" based on her size unless she has a large hand.

My 14U daughter catchers and needs a lighter glove. She is isn't very big (5-1, 95 lbs), but has been using a 34" Akadema for a few years. This year she seems to have a hard time controlling her glove with faster pitches. Should we get a 32.5 or a 33?
Asked by Mike on Oct 19, 2011
Most 13 and 14 year old girls playing fastpitch softball will use a catcher's mitt around 33 or 33.5 inches. If she's currently using a 34 inch model, I would probably make the jump down to a 33 inch. Moving to a 32.5 inch model may be too big of difference for her. A few good options are the Easton RVFP2000, Louisville VK204, Wilson A2403 ZCMB-A, and Wilson A1000 FPCMSS. All are great options.

I have a 14 year old daughter, is this the proper size for her now through high school?
Asked by willby on Jun 01, 2011
Yes. A 33 inch catchers mitt is a great size for high school age fastpitch softball players. This would be a good choice.
