As with the Gold Glove Award, this glove is for the player mastering defense. The Rawlings Gold Glove Series features patterns just like the pros wear, designed for each position: solid webs for pitchers, shallow pockets for middle infielders, and open webs for outfielders and infielders. The deer tanned cowhide palm and leather finger back linings help for strength, comfort and durability. The patented laceless finger Holster with index finger pad adds comfort and protection. The Rawlings Gold Glove is perfect for anyone trying to improve their defensive play and who needs a tough durable glove that can take the hardships of playing defense. The moldable padding feature allows the player to shape the pocket based on the demands of his/her position. As with all Rawlings gloves, this Gold Glove has been made with the highest grade of quality and hand crafted leather. The Rawlings Gold Glove Series gloves are targeted for the elite players that need a game-ready glove or a glove that may require minimal break in time; approximately 50% factory / 50% player break in work - slightly less break in time than the Heart of the Hide Series. Pros: I found the break-in period quicker than any of my other gloves (I have two 13-inch and two 14-inch gloves. I play infield (SS or 3B) and outfield (LF), often in the same game and found this glove perfect for that. The first glove I have liked with alternative fingering. Leather lining is unusual for this price range in a glove.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

Pros: Very reasonably priced. Quality of glove is superb and easy to break in. Shipping was fast, easy to track through UPS and best of all FREE! No other website comes close to the overall selection or quality of gloves. I will not have to purchase another softball glove for at least another 10 years. Well, well worth it and I'm very pleased with my recent purchase!!!
Cons: I have to wait until April 2012 to play again and that I hadn't found this website sooner

Pros: I played with this glove the same day (Thursday) that I tore off the tags. I was pretty much game ready and easy to break-in. I played again in a Sunday league and it was even better. I didn't put it in the over nor did I use a mallet. I just put a softball in the pocket and placed it under my bed. I recommend this glove for OUTFIELDERS and 1st BASEMEN. -Deep pocket -Soft but durably strong leather -Game ready -Outfielder/1st Basemen's dream glove I would give it a 5 Star if it had an adjustable wrist strap.
Cons: The ONLY issue that I have with this glove is that it doesn't have an adjustable wrist strap for a more snug fit.

Ask QuestionWith this glove, are you able to keep your pointer finger on the outside of the glove comfortably? It looks like the slot is narrow.
Asked by Nick on May 03, 2012
From the looks of it, it looks like the slot is very narrow. However, I have bigger hands and I have put this glove on and I can easily fit my pointer finger through the slot and it fits comfortably. With our 100 day guarantee on all of our gloves, if you purchase the glove and decide it is not as comfortable as you would like, you may always send it back to us for a full refund or exchange.

How is this glove in comparison to the MS140SP other than a 1/2 inch difference. I play 2nd and some outfield and want to wear the same glove. Thanks
Asked by bow on Apr 19, 2012
When shopping for gloves, especially when both are in the same price range, it comes down to your personal preference (ie: color, webbing, etc). Both of these gloves are similar in quality, durability and break-in time.

I am looking for a glove that I can wear both at 2nd base and the outfield. Currently I am switching gloves. Will this glove accommodate that? Also, does this come pre broke in?
Asked by bow on Apr 19, 2012
When picking out gloves, it really comes down to your personal preference. I think a 13 inch glove is the perfect size utility glove for softball, but if you prefer a slightly larger glove (or what I would consider a slightly larger glove) for the infield, then this would be a very good choice. This glove will be pretty soft, but not fully broken in.

Is there any type of padding in the palm to take a little of the sting out of some sharp line drives? And are the finger slots all leather, or is there a fabric lining? Thanks.
Asked by Frank on Mar 24, 2012
Yes. These is good padding in the palm to help reduce sting. Inner finger stalls are all cowhide leather.

Is this a third basemen's glove? I like to play SS and am wondering if the pocket is too deep?
Asked by R.P. aka on Mar 21, 2012
When talking about sizing with slow pitch softball gloves, 100% of it comes down to the preference of the player. There is not a specific size chart for slow pitch softball gloves. Most of the guys I play with at SS and even 3rd, use a 12.5 to 13 inch glove.

I play the outfield and like to slide my fingering out so my pinky and ring finger are in the pinky slot of the glove... will this glove's pinky slot accommodate two fingers?
Asked by DJ on Dec 28, 2011
Yes. It is a double finger slot so both fingers can fit in the pinky slot of the glove.
· Dec 28, 2011
What is a double holdster finger slot? Do you put 2 fingers in? If so which ones.
Asked by mikey on Dec 15, 2011
Yes, you can put two fingers in it. And you choose the 2 according to what feels best for you.

hello will this glove work for someone with a small hand?and is it considered a fairly light glove thanks
Asked by stew on Dec 03, 2011
Yes it will work for someone with small hand and it is a very lightweight glove

I have played slow pitch softball for years and need a new glove. I play outfield and like the feel of a 14 inch glove although I have a small hand. I am concerned with the break in time. Would you still recommend this glove?
Asked by diamonddustgal on Jun 28, 2011
This is one of the higher quality 14 inch gloves on the market and will take a little extra time to break in compared to most 14 inch models. It's a great glove that I would definitely recommend. However, if you want a quick break-in or a glove that's game ready I would recommend the Rawlings PP140R, Easton NE14, Rawlings PM1402T, or Louisville DYN1400.

Is theGG140TFS Softball Glove Glove, an infield glove for second base or short stop?
Asked by Old Salt Marine on May 16, 2011
At 14 inches, this glove would be better suited in the outfield. However, if you're comfortable using it in the infield, you can...just depends on the preference of the player.
