Pros: The leather is very high-quality, and the 50% factory break-in helps out a lot when you get this glove. I have been playing catch with it and applying oil to break it in and the pocket is coming along very well. Still have not used it in a game, but I know I am going to love it over my 12.5 for infield in softball.
Cons: The major things that come with this glove is really break-in time. Another thing is that this glove sucks oil right up, which is good, but I would recommend getting quite a bit of it to help with the break-in process or I think it would be a hard task to manage if you want it done correctly.

Pros: This is a great glove for its leather quality and performance. The leather seems to get better as you keep playing with it. The Deer Tanned Cowhide lining forms to your hand as you break it in and it is super comfortable. Fastback design allows for a perfect fit.
Cons: The red on this glove is a lot brighter than the picture here. Color doesn't really matter, however with some oil or conditioner it darkens up.

Ask QuestionI play outfield for my high school team as a freshman, and I'm looking for a 12.75 glove that will last a long time. Any ideas?

This is one of the best gloves on the market. It will be very durable.

I play centerfield for my high school team and will play college ball, what glove do I want to buy?
Asked by reid on Aug 07, 2011
That's a good question and ultimately a decision you will have to make. There are a lot of high quality gloves out there ideal for High School and Collegiate level outfielders. This would be an excellent choice. A lot of outfielders prefer a trapeze or modified trap web (it really comes down to your personal preference). If it were me, some of my top choices would be the Zett Z1275B, Nokona BC1275M, and Louisville FL1275CC.

I currently play slowpitch softball, and play both outfied and infield, but am primarily an infielder. I have been looking at a few top notch gloves that will last me quite some time. I was wondering what you guys would recommend, whether it would be size or name brand. I have been looking at either a Rawlings or a Nokona and I think I am torn between the two, but cannot decide. Thanks.

The size is your personal preference. I've always preferred a 13 inch glove whether I'm playing outfield or infield on the softball field, but that's my personal preference. As far as brand recommendations, I honestly can't recommend either Rawlings or Nokona over the other. They both offer several high quality glove series. If you prefer a glove with a softer feel, maybe go with the Buckaroo from Nokona. If you prefer a stiffer glove, look at the Nokona Walnut Series or Rawlings Pro Preferred. The Heart of the Hide will fall somewhere in the middle of those three. I've always prefered a softer glove in softball, but again that's my personal preference and not everyone is the same.

I play slowpitch softball and am looking to get a top-notch glove that will last me quite some time. I have been looking at many Rawlings and Nokona gloves in a 12.75 - 13.00 inch gloves, but am very undecided. I was wondering if you could help me.

Almost all of finding the right glove for you comes down to your personal preference. Both Nokona and Rawlings have a lot of high quality gloves to offer. If durability is your biggest concern, I think the Rawlings Pro Preferred, Nokona Buckaroo, and Rawlings Heart of the Hide will be the best options. After that, it's up to your personal preference.
