Pros: Rawlings Primo First Baseman Glove is made from outstanding quality leather, made with superior craftsmanship and provides the perfect pocket. It is the ultimate glove for the serious player. The Glove Care Kit was alos very useful breaking th eglove in, maintianing the pocket and evenly applying the glove oil for proper maintenance. The free ground delivery required only 2 days for the glove to be delvered to our door step. The links to process the order and track it were very user friendly, enabled real-time, and worked flawlessly. The Rawlings Primo glove is superior to the Wilson A2K an Mizuno Pro Classic versions we had previously purchased. It's a great long term investnment.
Cons: You get what you pay for. The quality, performance, craftmanship and durability make this an outstanding long term investment for a serious player.
The Rawlings Primo Series combines quality and innovation to produce a new standard in the world of baseball gloves. This finely crafted Primo glove is the ultimate choice for baseball's elite and soon-to-be elite. Primo is truly a masterpiece of design. Born in the Tuscany region of Italy, European full-grain leather is marked by a tight grain structure allowing for a flawless appearance. These gloves consist of two layers of the richest in Italian leather work together to create a pocket built for maximum performance and to provide durability and comfort. Strategically placed break points allow the glove to close according to your position`s demands. Additionally, hand sewn welting is placed along the outside of the glove eliminating the conjoining leather piece that would normally rub against your thumb. The third layer of Italian calf lining creates a luxuriously smooth feel unlike any other while the 100% wool padding adds an extra layer of cushion. Comfort without losing function. Primo leather and lacing undergoes an intensive hot-stuffed injection treatment that repels water and ensures durability. Additionally, the laces are tested to 100# tensile strength, creating a shape that endures all conditions. Finally, the Primo gloves provide superior comfort. The inner palm and lining adjust to the shape of the outer palm in order to absorb the impact of the ball. Free Shipping!

Pros: My whole life I have played 1st base now I play at a very high level and this is by far the best glove I have ever gotten. The leather is amazing. The glove lining feels nice and smooth. The glove breaks in real fast to. The web on this glove over time stretches as you catch balls so its easier to pick the ball. The hand sown welts help form your hand to the glove. Sometimes people will tell you that your glove is heavy don't listen to them its a first baseman's mitt for gods sake its going to be heavy no matter what kind of first basemen's mitt you get. But overall I could not have asked for Rawlings to make a better glove for first-base.
Cons: None It is the best glove in the world for first base
by Big Z - May 10, 2012
Pros: By far the best glove out right now. Not too heavy and the leather is amazing. I was hesitant about buying a 400$ glove, but it is worth the price. Amazing glove. You will not regret buying it.
Cons: NONE!
by Big Lou - Apr 11, 2011
Pros: This is the finest first baseman's glove out there! A throw back to 1950's quality, craftsmanship and durability. You get what you pay for and if you want the best this is it!
Cons: Can't rate it over 100%
by joe - May 01, 2012
Pros: pretty easy to break in. for anyone who has had a new glove. within two weeks i was already using it in my games. still a little stiff but not a problem.
Cons: pricey but well worth every dollar
by Mark - Nov 22, 2012
Pros: Best glove out there! If you are a serious first baseman, bite the bullet and get this glove. It is stiff at first but that's because of the high quality of leather. I recommend getting the glove professionally steamed first and then keep it conditioned with Rawlings glove oil.
Cons: None.

Pros: This glove is phenomenal. The price is a little steep but you get what you pay for. Best glove on the market, no questions asked. I am a high level player and this glove is 1000% the best glove I have ever owned. It forms to your hand like nothing I have ever seen. If you are looking to go anywhere as a 1B, buy this glove. It will last you the rest of your career. Take good care of this glove, it will become your best friend.
Cons: I highly recommend the Glove Care Kit, because this is a stiff glove out of the box.

I would like to get this glove for my soon to be 12 year old left handed son. He plays competitive baseball in the Rec. league and travel ball. Is this glove going to be too big for him at his age?
Asked by Mark on Oct 24, 2012
This Rawlings Primo should be fine for him and will fit him well as he continues to grow, but it will be little heavier than some other options due to the high quality of leather. Anywhere between 12" and 13" would be an appropriate size for him.

How does this compare size wise to the mizuno gxf22 and gmp30? which is a better softball mitt? thanks!
Asked by jason on Aug 06, 2011
The GMP30 is a 12.5 inch model, so it will measure a half inch smaller than the PRMFB and GXF22. The fit will be pretty similar between the three and the Mizunos may feel a little more snug around the wrist, but it won't be a significat difference. If you're playing softball, I would go with the GXF22. It has a deep enough pocket for a softball and will break in quicker than the PRMFB. That's my opinion though.
· Aug 07, 2011
I'm 15 and playing high school ball. I've heard the primo is really heavy. Should I go for a primo, hart of the hide dual core, or a pro preferred? So is it to heavy for my level? Also, please don't say primo because it's more expensive. Please do your best to give me an honest opinion. THANKS!
Asked by brad v on Jun 05, 2011
That completely comes down to personal preference. You won't be able to find a glove that's higher quality than the Primo, however the Pro Preferred and Heart of the Hide are very popular and many professionals use them. The weight will be pretty much the same between the Pro Preferred and Heart of the Hide and both will be high quality mitts.
· Jun 06, 2011
My usage would be men's softball. I am 6' 1'', 190 lbs. Hand size is L. I prefer a larger glove from the standpoint of having the ball comfortably fitting the pocket. My only concern is that my hand may slop around inside the glove, or the internal hand pattern would be too broad, thus pulling away on my small finger. Comments appreciated...
Asked by Tom on Apr 12, 2011
Primo gloves are some of the highest quality gloves on the market and they fit true to size and in my opinion are comfortable to wear. I'm 6'3" 200 with average size hands (wear size L batting gloves). I've tried on almost all the Primo gloves and they fit very comfortably, not too tight and not too big. After it's broken in it will fit even better.
· Apr 12, 2011
Can this glove be used for mens softball. I am 6"5 240 lbs with xxl hands. Will this glove work for me?? If not what glove would?
Asked by Doc on Apr 02, 2011
It should work for you. This will be a very high quality glove and it will take a considerable amount of time to break in. Rawlings gloves tend to fit true to size, and often are a little more roomy than normal. This should meet your criteria.
· Apr 04, 2011
Is the Rawlings Primo Series: PRMFB First Base Mitt a new model of the Primo Series? How stiff is this glove? I know the Primo series is a top of the line glove an most to of the line gloves are very stiff. Also my season begins in April 16 with about 3 practices a week. do you think I could break the glove in and ready for the season?
Asked by Baseball Man on Mar 27, 2011
Well, it's not brand new to the Primo line, but it's a somewhat recent addition. It will be a pretty stiff mitt, which is a testament to the quality of leather used. If you're diligent and work with the glove on a daily basis, it should be good to go in 3 or so weeks. It may not be 100% ready, but enough to use in a game.
