Up until 1875, baseball players didn't even use a glove when playing defense. In the late 1800's, players began using fingerless gloves on both hands, and it wasn't until 1919 that the idea of a "web" was even suggested. Unlike with bats, there are rarely innovations in the glove industry these days that really revolutionize the game. This season, Rawlings will change everything. Introducing the REVO Series player specific gloves from Rawlings. Featuring Solid Core Technology, these gloves eliminate traditional lining, and instead use layers to cater to how a player catches the ball based on position and personal preference. These layers, combined with the absence of heel and palm lacing, result in a glove that is naturally easier to close and less time consuming to break in. The REVO design creates a preformed pocket that gives players a better feel and enhanced grip of the ball, giving new meaning to the phrase "fits like a glove". Rawlings has divided these REVO gloves into three categories classified by pocket depth: Deep, Standard, and Flat. This particular model is part of the REVO 550 Softball Series and is made from a Deertouch soft full grain leather shell with deer tanned cowhide leather lining. The Deep 129 degree pocket on this glove breaks in from thumb to ring or little finger, and is tailor-made for softball players that consistently use one hand when catching the ball. With an Single Post Web and a conventional open back design, this 13.00 Inch first base model model offers unparalleled control on the bag. Rawlings: Redesigning Defense. Free Shipping!

Pros: Soft leather, minimal break in.
Cons: Too flimsy, no padding, slow pitch first baseman and it feels like the ball is going to pop out.

Pros: This glove is made of excellent leather and the break in time was almost immediate! The pocket is huge and the glove simply looks cool and is very comfortable. It's a great glove at a great price!
Cons: I should have bought it sooner

Pros: Nice, soft leather. Pocket is the perfect size to catch a softball. I literally tried on every 1st base mitt that Rawlings (and other companies) makes and this was my hands down favorite. The break in process was helped along quickly by the laceless heel and pocket. Scoops any awry throw out of the sand. This glove is a necessity for any softball first baseman; you won't be disappointed, I promise.
Cons: Unfortunate that more softball players haven't been exposed to this REVO line.

This is an excellent fastpitch softball firstbase mitt. It is specifically designed for fastpitch softball so it will have a large pocket to accomodate a softball up to 12 or more inches.

This glove will be to big for you to use for baseball. The pocket is bigger and meant for a softball. It would be to big for a baseball.
