Shoeless Joe Gloves - "when it was just a game". Shoeless Joe Gloves give a player the quality, feel and style of the gloves used by professional ball players over the last 100 years. You can choose glove models used in the first half of century in the Golden Age Series or today`s models in the Professional Model Series. The Shoeless Joe gloves are individually hand-cut and sewn from Special Aged Antique Tobacco Leather Hides. Shoeless Joe gloves are then hand-rubbed with old time ingredients to soften the leather before they go through their breaking in process that leaves the Glove with a beaten up and `Game Worn` look and feel, of a broken in glove. Thus each glove is unstructured giving it it`s own unique feature. Players can choose to play with an old time or modern day web without having to change to another model. A great play is lived only once, but, Your Glove, you`ll keep it forever. If you end a game with a clean uniform our gloves are not for you. Shoeless Joe Gloves - "when it was just a game". Pros: Looks great, old school smell and feel, fits hand perfectly.
Cons: Very stiff, seems to have missed the break in process as they built it. Also a lighter shade of leather so possibly missed oil rubs too?
by new to baseball mom - Oct 04, 2011
Pros: Great looking glove. Good start on the breaking in process. Love the look of old time baseball.
Cons: Needs a lot of work to be able to use the glove especially for a young player. Thought we would order and use that weekend to play but being new to baseball....I was very unrealistic.

The 2600FBTT has an average amount of padding for a first base mitt. It will have adequate protection from hard thrown baseballs.

looking for a good mitt for a 6 foot 3 high school player, will a 12 inch mitt be too small?
Asked by eric on Dec 01, 2011
It might be a little small for him. But everyone's preferences are different. Keep in mind that if the glove you choose doesn't fit the way he likes, you have 100 days to return it, and we can try another size if needed.

My son is 10 years old and has played baseball since he was 4. He is an experienced player....travel ball, major league (little league level) and all star team. He is starting to settle in on positions since he is left handed....pitcher, outfield, and first base. He has never owned a first base mit and this would be his first one. LL does not allow a glove over 12". Should he be ok with this glove until he reaches high school?
Asked by Mark on Jul 05, 2011
A 12 inch first base mitt should last a 10 year 3 years or so until he reaches high school age. This model will be very soft and easy to use from day one. If he likes a softer mitt then this would be a good option.
