The Wilson A1000 Series has been improved once again; this time with the focus being on softness. The A1000 Series uses Wilson's exclusive ECCO Leather inside and out, leaving you with a consistent break-in and feel. The ECCO Leather is one of the highest grade game-ready leathers available and is found only on the A1000 gloves. The A1000 series gloves also offer the new Dri-Lex Technology which is an ultra-breathable wrist lining that transfers moisture away from the skin, keeping your hand cool and dry. A1000 Series gloves also feature the patented Dual Welting system that offers a pre-curved finger design that helps maintain a stable and durable pocket. The Dual Welting technology is a patented design used exclusively by Wilson in the United States. The A1000 uses a Sorbothane Palm Pad which is a revolutionary material that diffuses shock away from the hand, giving your hand maximum protection. These gloves also offer MLB Pro Patterns which provide consistency and control. This 12.00 Inch pattern features an Hourglass Modified Trapeze Web and is preferred by infielders and pitchers. All patterns are endlessly field tested and constantly improved by hundreds of professional and top amateur players. Wilson: The Official Ball Glove of Major League Baseball. Free Shipping!

Ask QuestionIs the hand pocket made for a smaller hand ? My 10yr old needs a new glove & this looks like the best for the money, as long as the finger holes aren't made for a grown man.
Asked by Cubfan on Apr 27, 2012
This glove is going to be an adult glove. This glove is made for adult hands. You will need to look under youth gloves if you are trying to find one that is going to have smaller hand and finger stalls than an adult glove.

Is this good for third base or center field? I play both. I'm also wondering why this glove is filed under Worth?
Asked by GL on Apr 12, 2012
The Wilson A1000 Series would be suitable for third base or center field. We have removed the Wilson A1000 from the list of Worth gloves.

Is this glove ok for outfield?
Asked by Ryan Howard Legit on Mar 07, 2012
This glove would be a great option for an infield or an outfield position. Since it is a 12.00 inch model with a modified pocket design, it is a great choice for a player that plays either position.

Would this be a good outfielders glove, but also occasinally infield?
Asked by GeauxTigas on Feb 22, 2012
Yes, modified trapeze gloves can be used for outfield and infield.
· Feb 22, 2012
This glove is great for both positions. A 12.00 inch and modified pocket design makes this a good glove for a player playing multiple positions.

Which glove is better for a 13 yr. old pitcher/ss the wilson a1000 hg12b or the Spalding Stadium Series 42092? What are the differences?
Asked by smitty on Nov 29, 2011
I would not recommend either of these gloves for a 13 year old playing the infield. Most infielders use an 11.00-11.50 inch glove. Most outfielders use a 12.00-12.50 inch glove. I would look into going down a couple of sizes.

My son is 13 and I am trying to get him a glove he can break in and use in high school. He is a tall lean 8th grader (5'8" and 130lbs.). He plays SS and pitches. Do you think this 12" glove is too big for him, should he stick with his 11.5" glove until he is closer to playing HS ball or get a 12" glove and break it in now.
Asked by smitty on Nov 23, 2011
Generally speaking, most infield and pitchers, depending on their size, and preferences, use between 11 inch to 12inch gloves, usually with a modified trapese webbing or a closed basket weave webbing. So this glove actually, is a very good choice for him.

What is the difference between the A1000 and the A2000? Is the extra $100 really worth it for the A2000 or should I get the A1000?
Asked by Mac on Jun 05, 2011
The A2000 series of gloves are made from a higher quality of leather compared to the A1000. The A2000 gloves are known to display a little better durability than the A1000. The A2000 may last longer, but will take longer to break in. The A1000 may not last as long, but will be much easier to break-in. It's up to you which one to get.
